i stumbled across this as i was googling my own name (very bored at work and needed to do something to stay awake), and wanted to thank you for the heartfelt comments.   
i&#039;m especially moved that you caught the &quot;helping the defenseless&quot; (my own term was always &quot;defending the defenseless&quot;) theme being bill&#039;s driving ambition.  it&#039;s one of the reasons i&#039;ve idolized him my entire life.  his dedication to those causes, and his conviction that this was the right thing to do were unshakeable.  
unsaid in the book was bill&#039;s idolization of john lennon, and his seemingly parallel path of consciousness.  i thought i would share that little tid-bit of bill&#039;s history with you as my way of saying thanks, again.
